i got the same call as the stories above. They do not have my credit card numbers or anything yet they didn't ask for the numbers or maybe I didn't give them a chance to because right when I asked did I have to purchase the magazines he said yeah it's apart of the sweepstake told me have a nice day and hung up. Does the magazines really come and if so how will they charge me?
I just rec'd a call from this # and called back right away. The person on the other end asked if she could help me I replied yes stop calling tel #s registered on the national do no call list. This idiot then tried to get my personal information - I told her I would not give her any info. She again replied by saying "I will not be able to enter you into our sweepstakes!" I then hung up! THIS NUMBER WILL BE REPORTED TO THE FTC!
DONT MESS WITH THE MORTGAGEMAN!
I picked up when they called today. The woman said I was entered into a sweepstakes by one of my credit card companies for $25k and a 2009 Saturn Vue. I asked her what company and she said she couldn't give me that information. She just confirmed my address (she said it and I just said "yes"). She went on to say that all winners will be notified via registered mail if they are winners. I won't hold my breath for my check.
I received a call today from phone # 937-237-8064. The lady said she was from Publishers Headquarters in Dayton, OH. She wanted to know my address, my age, etc so that she could enter me into a sweepstakes. She also told me that for answering her questions, I would get a diamond watch!!
Sounds like another SCAM to me. I, of course did not answer any questions.
I received a call from this number 937-237-8064. They said they called because they wanted to enter me in a sweepstakes. I was told that I had a credit or debit card with one of their companies. I could win 25k or a car. When I told her I was not comfortable with giving out personal information, she said that was okay and all that information was optional. I was offered 3 free magazine subscriptions and a diamond watch if I purchased 3 magazines subscriptions for $3.95/week. She said she was new and had to transfer me to her supervisor, at this point I declined and said good bye. Person was very friendly, but I was not interested and felt it was not a real thing.
