I got one of these calls on Monday, approximately at 4:44 p.m. I acted terrified that the IRS was going to arrest them and begged them to call me back on my cell phone number in exactly five minutes. I then googled the US Attorney's Office here and read them the phone number for the US Attorney's Office as if it was my cell number. They agreed to call back. I wonder how that went.
Received a call from this number and also from (631) 944-9872. Robot call on both saying that the IRS was planning to sue me on a past due debt and to please call back. Called both back, but no answer on the (631) number; the (206) number was much more sophisticated, even music on hold. A guy with an Indian/Pakistan accent answered with terrible english enunciation. He asked to speak to my wife who is on the phone number associated with our phones for a recent domain name we registered (obviously where they mined the information). They asked to speak with her and I said she was unavailable what did they want.... I played around with them for a short bit and they tried to get credit card information from me... then I went nuts on them and obviously got the guy frustrated. I said "nobody falls for this crap." He braggedly said he was in Islamabad and had over 200 Credit Card numbers. I could hear a lot of other people talking too. I asked him how he felt about stealing money from little old women and elderly people and he said "about the same as I felt knocking down the trade center..." it went down hill from there as you might well guess. After about 5 minutes of going ballistic on this [***] and trading barbs he hung up. PEOPLE... DO NOT FALL FOR THIS CRAP.
