Called and said his name was Jonathan. Was an American voice. Trying to sell home security. I told him I was not interested and to remove me from their call list. Got very indignant and snippy with me after that. He then said to me " well since your spouse is not home let me give you the information etc. and we will send a representative to your home". I told him my spouse was home and we were not interested in home security and if he continued to call I would report him. I then said to him.. So What are YOU going to do about it now???? I was hung up on.
Anyone calling and claiming to be from the IRS is a fraud and only wants to scare and intimidate you to get your personal information etc. Never. never believe these people or give them any information about yourself as they are scammers The IRS never calls people...They would contact you by mail if necessary... Just hang up if they call again.
download an sit.wav from Google. create a new answering maching message, with this tone playing at the start. A computer generated call will hear this wav, and get a message, "this number is no longer available."
You also can call the Verizon unlawful call center at 1-800-257-2969 from 8:30 am to 5 pm M - F.
If you get a robo call the wav will work, but if you get a live body, the complain to the unlawful call center. Hope this helps.
