how to remove your number without relying on a worthless list and have some fun while doing it: .. make up a believable business name .. like if you're in Oklahoma .. just answer "Red Clay, are you calling for load delivery or excavation" .. then to whatever caller says, just answer, "You've reached Red Clay. We deliver red clay by the load or we excavate red clay. How can I help you." If they persist asking to speak to a name, just tell them "Can't take or connect personal calls; leave your company and your name and number and who you want to talk to and I'll put it on the call board for you and if that person works here then maybe they'll call you back, so what's your name?" .. Usually they will just say sorry wrong number .. they still may call back a few times but if you persist with your dialog they will knock you off their predictive dialing computer .. make the name of your company something your state is known for, like in Minnesota you could just answer, "Lakes" and you can be a landfill company or an excavation company .. in Texas you could just answer, "B O T .. Big Ol' Texas" and you can be a big oil rig moving company .. etc .. use your imagination and make it fun!! .. has worked terrifically for us to get us off most lists of naggers etc ..
