"Claim" to be IRS "officer" with the number 3475590378 and that my name and SS# is involved in a pending tax criminal case. Barely spoke english and only seem to have my name and phone number and nothing else. Told me to to call 877-395-4886. Don't believe these guys! SCAMMERS
I got a call from this number today. An automated voice asked me to either press 1 or call a 202 area code number to avoid getting arrested because of IRS tax evasion. Asked me to do it ASAP before "conditions worsen." Knew it was scam after hearing those words. I've also reported this number to the FTC.
I've been harassed by these people on and off for over a month on this same number as well as 202 803-4758 and other assorted numbers- sometimes in daily bombardments for a week. Numbers used are US based and generally the same. Even more, these people can be called back on most of these numbers and will identify as IRS agents. They are demanding immediate wire transfers of money or immediate arrest. I have reported this to the FBI myself and yet these same numbers and the same Southeast Asian with a British name posing as a IRS agent is still calling. How many seniors are falling for this in fear of jail and not savy to the obvious scam? Even if this ring is not US based, they are using the same US numbers and God knows what the money they are stealing is going towards. If they are right here in the US, shame on the FBI for not lifting a finger.
The caller left the following message in our answering machine:

Before this matter goes to federal claim court house or before you get arrested, please call our call back number 202-803-4807. If you know about this matter, press 1 or press 9 to ignore this. Thank you. Have a great day. Good bye.
