Yes, you should call back immediately with your pertinent details, confirm your SSN#, Bank Accounts (For Garnishment),

Thanks for all the informative, reassuring posts. The automated message that I answered gave me a name and told me to have my tax attorney call them to avoid the IRS filing against me. I was totally freaked out. I could not believe I got the call from them. I have always paid my taxes. I did not have my pen when they called so I could not write down their call back number. Luckily I checked the number and found these responses. I will fill out the complaint form. thank God I was able to get this information.
I got the call stating I had a lawsuit from the IRS. They said that the IRS had been trying to serve me paperwork and had been leaving messages on my answering machine. Why hadn't I returned the calls. They said IRS was thinking I did it on purpose and knew they were looking for me. Said I had 3 charges against me. That my income didn't match what I reported on taxes. Went back to 08. Said that in my name I owed $4750.00 within an hour an arrest warrant was going to be issued to me and an officer was going to be at my house and arrest me. I would be in jail for a week. Said all my assets was going to be seized and lose my driving license. Kept telling me it was to late to pay what I owed and IRS had turned the case over to the collection agency.Offered me a "one time" only deal if I could and was willing to pay what I owed today.
