I have been getting calls from the (202) 191-5555 number. Three calls yesterday and four calls today. Two hours in between the times they called me. I normally don't answer calls from numbers I am not familiar with. Since most of those types of calls in the past have all been sales calls.
I took the call and listened while a man with an extremely thick Indian accent, told me of the $7,000.00 Grant money that the Government has been trying desperately to get to me. He informed me that I had to meet the requirements in order to receive this grant. Which were:
1. I had to be a tax payer and had to be current with all past due taxes.
2. I had not filed Bankruptcy within the last 7 months.
3. I could not use the money for illegal activity or gambling.
He then gave me a number to call, which was (202) 407-9906. He also gave me a reference number that I needed to give to a Mr. Daniel Hardmen when I called him. I asked him his name and he told me Kenneth Slaw. At least that is what it sounded like after he repeated it, but wouldn't spell it for me. He went over my current address which I confirmed with him. He then told me of a website that I should check out before making my call to Mr. Hardmen. www.grants.gov
I checked the website then called Mr. Hardmen. He informed me of the Green Dot prepaid card I needed to purchase. He then told me that I would need to put $260.00 on the card. In order for the maximum amount that could be transferred would raise from $1000 to $8000. I asked him why he couldn't transfer the money to my debit card. And he told me that my bank would charge me over $700 in fees in order to make that transfer. I then informed him that he was wrong. Because I work closely with my bank. And have never been charged any more then a standard fee for any transfers.
He told me that I would have to give him the information on my Green Dot card in order for the transfer to go through. I then asked him why anyone would do such a thing. Giving him an opportunity to take out whatever money that would be on my prepaid card. He assured me that he already had all of my banking information. That if he wanted to drain my account, he would have already done that. He then asked urgently how soon I could have my prepaid card. I told him Monday. Then he told me to make sure it was after 10:30 AM Eastern time.
Since I was just born today, I am looking forward to Monday, so I can give him $260.00. He was so anxious to give me the $7,000.00. I should be just as excited to give him my money as well.
4 calls today. Finally answered and no one spoke. This is total B.S. Too bad I can't find them ! Cowards. I'm an AMERICAN and I will not tolerate this ! Same # 202-191-5555. Get a green card and get a real job ! Stand in line because AMERICANS 1ST !

I picked up the phone and said "WHO IS THIS!"
The phone went dead.
I am always very incensed when I get a call from a telephone number that is new to me.
There are too many crooks out there!
