Male voice with a foreign accent left a threateining message that ignoring this call will be considered intentional avoidance of appearing before a magistrate for a federally criminal offense and to call back 201-215-5408. Block both numbers.
The IRS does not need to sue anyone. They send you first class letters delivered by the Post Office. Several of them. Ignore those, and they then send certified letters that you need to sign for. Again delivered by the Post Office. Ignore those and they simply freeze your bank accounts and anything else you own. If they can do that, then why would they bother with a court case that might take them years before they get in front of a judge?

just got the same call from 2 different numbers within an hour apart, yeah right, the IRS is going to sue me lol..that's exactly how the feds operate, they have some indian call you up and threaten you, they don't send an agent to the house, they don't send you a certified letter they let this guy do their business for them..do they think we're stupid?
Message left was laughable! As others have reported, caller is a male with an accent. Claims he is Dennis Quaid (hah!). Don't be fooled by the caller ID which says "AARP". They can spoof with any name they want. Also, the caller ID number 202-215-5408 didn't match the number we were directed to call which was the same exact phone number but with a different area code, 201 instead of 202. What an idiot, can't even spoof the right phone number!! Anyway, the IRS never calls if there is a problem (they will only send you a letter, registered in fact) so this is obviously a scam. Gave us a good laugh though.
