Got a voice mail yesterday from a Dominic from the "IRS" about an audit. He had a South Asian accent and could not even say his last name clearly. At any rate, I'm sure the IRS would contact a person by mail about an audit rather than making calls like this.
Got a call he said my mother in law owed money to irs if she didn't pay she going to jail i told him go ahead cause we went to police and told them when they first called the police said it was a scam so i yelled told the man go ahead get the police cause it a scam so hope they dont call back
My wife, a Japanese national was called and told she owe $1300 in taxes. I was told she could be deported
or liens put on our property or wages garnished. They claimed they had sent messages to us that we hadn't responded to. IRS confirmed that this is a scam targeting foreigners. Some times they follow up on these
calls claiming to be from the police or DMV. IRS told me to report it to www.treasury.gov/tigta to launch an investigation for impersonation of IRS agents.
The guy who called spoke poor heavily accented Englsh and called himself George Martin. Tried to extort
payment to avoid prosecution and deportation. Gave IRS agent number 201192

are using stong armed tactics to scare and shake down immigrants.

A guy with an Arabic accent called saying he was from the IRS saying I owed money to the government. He asked if I had been contacted by the "IRS police". He puthis supervisor on the phone who also had an Arabic accent. It's s scam!
