Firstly, got a call from 202-657-4430 stating they were with the IRS and I was being sued and that the privilege of making payments was no longer an option for me.

Well, considering my situation, they had me going for a bit (I'm having a near heart attack). My fear got the best of me and relaxed my guard. I confirmed my last four of my SSN, but I'm embarrassed to say that I would have given them the full number had the scam artist asked.
But as time went on, I quickly became suspicious. He was telling me I could handle this out of court, but I had to pay something immediately and then go on monthly or biweekly payments. The thing was he told me I couldn't hang up the phone because he needed an uninterrupted recording. Then he wanted me to drive to the ATM right away, withdraw the money and go to some place to have it wired; all while never hanging up. This is desperate and suspicious behavior and that brought my brain back online. I went to the pc and looked up the number and of course, yes, they are scammers.
Well I immediately hung up without a word and blocked the number. I almost immediately got another call from DC on this number here, 202-239-0163. So I blocked it too.
Anyhow, thought I'd be the first to post since no one has on this number so far. I would hate for them to get away with their BS.

Same story as above only when I told them I could not pay the full amount till I called my financial advisor and had the money transferred into my account so that I could pay them. They said I three days to call them back (at this number 202-239-0163) or the "local" police would serve my arrest warrant and take me to jail... I did some research only to find that the IRS will never discuss your taxes/ what you owe over the phone, and will never demand for you to make an immidiate payment. Below is tips on what to look for if one of these foreign dirtbags calls you... Its a well thought out scam considering most Americans pay their taxes and have never interacted with the IRS and do not know how they handle their business.
