I too get this call. First it used to be every day or two, now it has become less frequent. I think there is nothing to it. I also got several calls from 1 Mark, who asked me for my bank account info so that they can mail me a chek for $25000 dollars direct deposit that I will never have to return, & that it was from the federal govt or something. He said I had the option to take it in the form of prepaid debit card...which, of course, I have never received...Am still waiting...No, I did not give any info about me other than my name & phone number which they already had
They called me just a couple hours ago. Told me they were from the irs and had a lawsuit against me, and demanded $3500 by tomorrow. He offered to have me arrested and deported. I was willing to give up my credit information, but they said my accounts were frozen. He was about to semd me on a wild goose chase to Rite Aid for some kind of money order. If not, he said if i hang up, the recording from the police station will come along with my arrest tomorrow. His name was Adam Smith, probably used the same name for everyone else. I almost had a heart attack.
Anon, the IRS will NEVER call you or send you an email. Any interaction with them will come through regular mail. Happy you wised up . Lord mercy! To have sent that money out , can only shake my head.
Got a call from this number and the person left a message stating he is from IRS and there is a law suit filed against me and I have to call him right away to avoid any further action. I tried calling the number back and nobody picks up the phone, then I googled the number and found out its a scam!!!!
Called several times by this number in the past few days - same as everyone else here they say they are the IRS, and a lawsuit has been filed against me. Total scammers. They don't even have my correct last name. You can bet the IRS does!
