they called me this morning around 8 am left a message on my cell phone
message said to call them it is very important if i don't call they will take actions against me even thou they have not asked for me in person or ask for anyone else
First time they called someone with a non US voice asked for someone here but had the name wrong. I said wrong number. Then they called back next day left a recorded message from a fake irs. I called the number back. Non US person only wanted to verify first, last names and spelling. Confirmed phone number. Then said they are going to take my property, bank accounts, credit cards due to owing back taxes and they're finished trying to reach me now at this point the police will be here with in the hour to put me in jail for 1 year. After that the man got super rude. Not sure the point of their scam yet so far their fishing for identity info. I would take very seriously their claims wanting your bank accounts and credit cards. Dont call them back, never give out info. Never confirm your name.
I got the phone call and they left a message. Said it was from the irs and if me or district attorney didn't call back they would take legal action. I called the number back and the guy was like IRS how can I help and I asked why did he call? He said hold on and he hung up phone. So I called back many times and he answered again. I asked him the same thing and he said OMG and hung up the phone. That's when I knew it was a prank call. So I looked up the number and it was from a YMAX Communications Corporation (magicjack).
I received a robo call telling me that I had a debt with the IRS. I called back and got through to someone who sounded like they were in and from India. He told me that I had a delinquency with the IRS for certain years and that I should have received a notice from the IRS. He told me all the bad things that would happen to me - seizure of my property, my bank accounts and that I would be arrested within the hour. I told him I didn't want to go through all that and asked what I could do to resolve the situation. He said he could accept a payment for $13k to avoid my immediate arrest. He asked if I was near any specific stores and I said I was near a Walmart. He said I would need to go to the store but to keep him on the line. I told him I was calling from a home phone and didn't have a cell phone. At this point about 10 minutes had gone by so I told him what I was going to do. I was going to go to the bathroom and pretend the #@!@# I took was going down his throat. Uncharacteristically for an IRS employee, he called me a MF'er. I told him he was an idiot and I hoped he enjoyed wasting time with me.
