I have received many phone calls from this fraudulent IRS. I advise them that I am aware of the scam. They curse and use very vulgar comments. This world is going way down with the knowledge and professional ability of these scammers. Technology is getting ahead of us.
I have now received 4 of these calls and my ID caller says it is from Wash DC. I was worried at first but not sure why and then i put it on speaker so others around me and my hubby could hear. I am tired of receiving them even wake me up and etc.
I'd heard about this scam already, but I'd never received the call until today, Saturday 9-13-14 at 8:AM this morning. It was a barely audible message telling me that I owed the IRS money, which I know isn't true. The ID of the caller said it was coming out of Washington D.C. I just laughed because it was such a poor quality message that it pretty much told on itself.
Never answer any calls that you don't recognize. There's scammers galore out there today and some that if you answer on a mobile phone or call them back, they can actually hack into your accounts and obtain sensitive data. Those are the "sorry wrong number" scammers. Just heard about this one last week.
It's a shame that we've become prey for these scammers simply by owning a phone these days.
