Received a voicemail message directed to someone in my family re: IRS legal action. Heavy Indian accent from Roger Wilson, almost unintelligible. I called back to see if anyone answered and they did, wanting my name, when I asked their name I was told to hold for the next police officer. Hold music was definitely not anything I was used to hearing as hold music. Then disconnected. Tried to report it to FTC but their mailbox was full. Did enter it on IRS site but don't know if they'll contact. Any suggestion to repot this number?
received a call saying that they audited my taxes for the last 10 years and I owed 4000.00 and if I didn't pay they were sending the police within the hour to arrest me. I told them to send them. The caller couldn't understand me and I couldn't hardly understand them because of the heavy accent
I received a call at work from Mr. Jack Wilson ID 60381(I asked for his ID #). I was asked to call Bamon Marshall at 2022410583 regarding a miscalculation of my taxes last year.
Actually, I have been contacted initially by the IRS before about them wanting to audit the business I had at the time. However, during that phone conversation they NEVER asked for any sensitive information, requested a payment or threatened me in any way shape or form. I must give them credit that they were very professional throughout from beginning to end. Also, they said they would be sending mail correspondence to outline everything we'd discussed and what I was required to produce for the audit. One month later and about three hours of my time gone and an entire day wasted of taxpayer money for the agent's travel, expenses and report writing, they[agent] realized their wasn't anything amiss, that I owed nothing, and the whole thing was over. A month after that, I received conformation in the mail that the matter was closed.
One thing for certain, the IRS will NEVER robocall you which is why I came across your post because I just got a robo call from someone claiming to be the IRS and that they were going to file a lawsuit and that I should call a number in DC which is not an IRS number from what I can find so far.
