Ps. That was after i received same answering machine message as you. I called back. But since i has only a partial message i had no case# etc. smells like a scam.
I too got a call from this number, called back got voice mail. Called back next day got "Jose" told me I will be arrested if I didn't pay what I owed in 2 hours. Scared me! So I'm waited for the Sheriff to come get me!
Received a call from 202-241-0880 today at 2:40 p.m. Did not return the call because I felt like if the IRS wanted to talk to me they should call with a real person and not some crappy recorded message. Also, I've only ever received written mail from IRS, not a recorded phone call. Did an internet search on the phone number and found this web site.
A man called and left a message saying he was from the IRS. His name was "Kenny Webster" very rude, saying that my wife and I owed more then $6,000. He would not give me his supervisor, got very rude... he gave me some random address in the state of New Jersey. I called my local police department and they now have all the information that he gave to me.
Received a call from a very heavy middle eastern accent on a Saturday morning. Said we owed money and that we would be arrested. Right there I knew it was a scam as did REXirs !
I received 2 calls sounded fishy ... Called back no answer then a left a message "telling them since they left no name etc.
And I'm current with the IRS, it could be my ex. :) who doesn't live here and I don't know where he is (true) ...
