We got calls this morning too!! 4 times! The first two times I could hear people in the background but when I said Hello, no one talked. The next time my husband answered and they said there was a law suit from IRS against me. They wanted the lawyers name. My husband said he'd have the lawyer contact IRS. They asked to verify our address to which my husband responded, if they know our name and phone #, IRS also should know our address. He then just said ok and hung up. Officer Eric Foster called back left a message. Said he wanted us or our lawyer to call back at 202 241 1435 and if he doesn't hear back from us then he could only "wished us good luck as the situation unfolds". Definitely had and Indian accent though he was trying hard to sound American. seems like a SCAM!!
It is two people (a man and a lady) who answer the phone as the "Internal Revenue Service." They target older immigrants. These two people also have another number: 866-978-6883. I have filed a complaint with the FCC, the California Attorney General's Office, and the real Internal Revenue Service. These two criminals do NOT work for the IRS.
Report the Calls to the real IRS here:
•report the incident to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration at 800-366-4484.
•You can also file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission at FTC.gov. Add "IRS Telephone Scam" to the comments in your complaint.
Do consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $60.00 or so.
This corporation is completely out of control. I was told by the caller that he was an office with the Internal Revenue Service. When I asked for a call-back number and employee ID number, he told me, "F**k you, old lady, F**k you." I am tired to this kind of disrespect in my own home and want it STOPPED!
