Claims he's agent Michael from the IRS

There is a widespread IRS (or CRA) or "tax scam" being  practiced by scammers on both USA and Canadian residents.

Short answer:
The IRS never initiates a contact via phone.
They always send a snailmail first.

Received message from 202-241-6953 from "Mike Wilson with the IRS". Threatened that if I didn't return his call immediately, there would be "severe penalties". The curious thing is that the male caller had a Middle-Eastern accent and didn't sound like someone whose name would be "Mike Wilson". I have reported this to the IRS and our state's Attorney General's Fraud Department.

Has called multiple times. Only left one message and threatened that If I didn't deal with this in a timely manner I would receive severe consequences including my social security number being red flagged forever.

Scam. Claimed to be Mike Smith (?, and with Asian accent?) from IRS threatening severe penalties and lawsuit etc if I didn't call back. IRS would never initiate contact this way. Will report this disturbing call.
