Caller ID only said "Washington DC", and this number. They called home phone, left a message saying something like "this is IRS, Internal Revenue Services, call us back immediately for a time-sensitive message". Is it legit?
They told me that I had to call immediately and give a social security number or else the IRS would be forced to take legal action against us, our name, and our social security number! My father was about to call and give it to them, luckily, my sister catched the fact that it was very suspicious..................... There was a weird accent and at the end they said "have best day" So be careful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We then searched the number, only to find it was fraud!!
The female voice left a message saying "This is the IRS, please call us regarding a time sensitive issue. You must call in order to be sure your social security number.. Blah Blah Blah". This is the 2nd phone number that I have received this kind of call. I have heard there is a large Scam going on across the U.S. Please beware and be careful.
