This was "Amanda", a very pleasant robot voice claiming to be from "Home Protection", making an illegal call in violation of the National Do-Not-Call Registry. "She" was looking for homes to receive a free security system, but the line went dead in the middle of "her" spiel. Darn shame - I LOVE when these folks call. In the past I've had them on the line for 30 or more minutes, asking softball questions about their systems, and, best of all, setting up an appointment for an installation. When an installer comes, I hand them a copy of the NDNCR to give to their superiors, reminding them that they are working for a company that is violating the law with their sales practices, and suggesting that they might do better working for a more stable, law-abiding company. Sometimes you just gotta' fix things yourself...
Robo call wanting to give me a business loan, my local credit union can do that for me. Press 1 to be tak'n off their list HA!!!!HA!!!!
If your interested in a loan for $10,000 or more press 5 someone with a foreign sounding voice replies ...think I'm going to press 5 from now on and keep them engaged...see how long they keep going with this. Since the DNC doesn't work ....HA!! HA!! Butts!!!
To add to that I almost think if everyone would start to keep them engaged for as long as one can maybe they would figure out that we're just WASTING THEIR TIME... A friend of mine did that with a certain religious group that use to come around ...he had them talking for almost an hour and since he was retired he didn't care when they figured they had him all signed up to join he said "Sorry, I just kept you engaged so you wouldn't bother all my neighbors. Guess what they never came back to his house. Ü
Today this number's robo caller said they have reviewed my account and my business qualifies for a loan. No credit needed, just need to be in business for 3 months and do over 10 grand a month. This call was to my personal cell phone. I am sure if I gave an account number to end money they would use the info to clean it out.
