They call to see what apartments we have available almost EVERY DAY. They ask the same questions, but pretend to be a prospective renter. They always try to get the full names of the employees. Why? Are they going to start trying to call us at home too? They take up time of all our employees for no reason. I wish I could make them go away. Terrible, disrespectful company.
This idiotic crappy "real estate" company has been told NOT to call me in the one personal call I took from them.
I have ONE commercial property NOT listed with any brokers, and they won't quit calling every few weeks. I even told them the truth..that my property is ugly, its next to an abandoned and dangerous building that's falling in, located in a town where the biggest two businesses are the funeral home and the laundromat, and they STILL won't quit calling.
Like someone else said, this borders on harassment, and even moreso, considering they're in Washington and my property is in Michigan, so there's no way they could see the private sale sign in my window of the property, so some third party scum is involved!
Too bad one can't "slam" a phone down anymore. It would feel SOOOOOO good.
Has anyone actually gone to the Costar site? www.costar.com It's a research company. They get funded by CRE professionals. Large brokerage firms, small firms, traders, government agencies REITs, the Assessor's office, etc.
They do research on the commercial real estate market. Basically, they get paid to collect information on it all from what commercial properties exist , who owns them, who manages them. If they are actively on the market for sale for lease. any projects that are under construction or proposed to be developed, who sold what, who bought what, who is a tenant at a property, etc, how long has something been on the market, whats the average sale price, lease price , etc.
They aren't telemarketers so they don't have to abide by the DNC list. They aren't trying to sell you anything. They have a sales side but most of the calls are about researching the market. It's their business to show everything that's current with the market, even if the RE agent doesn't want to list to them. If its available for lease or sale its their business to show it no matter what.
They don't get paid by the listing agent . They get paid by everyone else to show it all. They expect the listing agent to list with them and keep it current because it tends to be hard for the agent to explain to a property owner why they are choosing not to speak to someone about their property they are trying to sell or lease.
Caller ID showed COSTAR RLTY INF, lady asked if I owned the CAR WASH she had seen on the map??
Told her I was not the owner, do not know who owns it, I am familiar with the area in question but I did not live near that area. Referred her to the new QuikTrip Gas Station that had been built on that corner.
Guess the call was legitimate, get more than enough SCAM calls per day, even though I have been on the DO NOT CALL LIST since it has been in existence.
