I just received a call from this number. My iPhone says it's from Washington dc. I spoke with someone to make sure they didn't have any personal info. He asked me if I still have an outstanding debt of $5,000 or more... If he was Card Services from Visa like he said wouldn't he know that I've never had any debt over $1,000. After I told him I've never had a balance like that he hung up on me. This is extremely fishy!
Keeps calling and leaving a partial message about lower my mortgage rates but the rate they give is way higher than normal rates they leave no phone number to call back.
I received a message on my voice mail from this number. They left a message that "you don't want to be left out of Obama's stimulus plan" It was news to me; I don't think our government should be giving away money. I don't earn a large salary but I want to keep my own money. Not looking for a hand out!
You might, if you're about to lose your home on a 30 year mortgage in the last year because you weres suddenly unemployed.
Don't toss the baby out with the bathwater.
This is what the link above was supposed to say. But I apologize for that people and I repeat it here.
Actually, there is a program that helps you out. The reason they can get away with calling you when your on the do not call list is because they are a not for profit. Too many people mistake not for profit as to mean not for making money, many people make decent wages working for non profit.
However I digress; there are bad guys out there who will try to take advantage of you. If the person was legitament, you'll probably end up at a company just like the one that called.
But then again, why get the information from a third party when you can get it for yourself?
