Husband got a phone call this afternoon on his cell phone. He answered and the automated message was that the IRS has been trying to contact us and this was a final notice.
If it was legit, the IRS contacts individuals through the mail via Certified Mail and/or regular mail -- NOT A TELEPHONE CALL.
I got a call saying the IRS was suing me for back taxes. I asked him my filing status and he could not tell me. He said they were going to revoke my license for taxes from 09-14 when I asked to speak to someone I could understand or a manager he hung up.
