Thanks, no surprise its a scam. I don't think its sophisticated at all; although it may be to some people. What really annoys me is they called twice on my cell. Jerks!! Will report.
Call from 202-506-9529 freaking my family out. Said was from IRS and if we didn't call the back immediately would file legal action. Bizarre computer generated women's voice said to call back. When I called the number just for heck of it was no answer and number hung up on me.
Got the same message today. The first thing I did was to check the phone number in google, and I found this website. So it's not only me!... And there' even a "take care" after the whole message!
This happened to me and I talked to the person. Said the sheriff was coming because I have income unaccounted for in my taxes. I said no I don't. It must be identify theft. So I asked what can be done then he said a lesser amount. I said f u bring the sheriff. He hung up
