•report the incident to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration at 800-366-4484.
•You can also file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission at FTC.gov. Add "IRS Telephone Scam" to the comments in your complaint.
Do consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $60.00 or so.
This call is supposed to be from the Irs and some hindo says the sherrif is coming for you if you don't pay a certain amount that you owe. This is a fake and phony call according to the real I rs. They do not call you on the phone so they say don't send any money to anyone!!!!!! BEWARE!!!!!!!
This is a Pakistan or India based IRS scam. Do not fall for this.

The IRS does not initiate any legal action over the phone. Report it also to your local law enforcement agency. The scammers use voice over IP lines (e.g. magicjack (Ymax corporation). This is always against these companys' terms of use and can lead to termination of their contract. However only law enforcement can initiate the contact if you yourself are not a customer. Ultimately this is a case for the FBI legal attache in Islamabad or Delhi. If you are really annoyed: call or write to your representative in Congress. As these scams happen all over the country maybe this will trigger a reaction (and the NSA can finally be a force for good).
received a message stating urgent irs contact is needed. When I called this number back it went to a voice mail with a womans voicewho sounded as if she were from India. The number was202 5069967
I got the same female automated message saying it was the IRS and if I didn't call them back, they will take legal action. well of course, I know that the IRS sends legal notices and do not call consumers by phone. Well, I called that number back and it was an Indian guy with a thick accent and he said his name was Alex Walsh and stated his badge number and he was the IRS. He looked up my phone number and verified my name. He said he wanted my lawyer's name because I owed money. I asked him what his real name was and I told him I was going to report him to local law enforcement and the state attorney's office and he hung up on me. I called back and demanded he take my name and number off the call list and he hung up on me again. The 5th or 6th time he kept transferring me to a vm. Finally, someone picked up and I asked "is this Alex"? he said no. I asked him his name and he said it was Bruce Willis. I told him to remove my name and he said no, he didn't have to do that. He also had a bad Indian accent. After I threatened to report him to the news, local law enforcement, he hung up on me.
