Got a call from this number today. It was a man who at first claimed to be IRS, and after I asked him to repeat himself switched to telling me "I had won a grant from a government survey." He proceeded by trying to get my bank account number. Really oblivious scam, and as a heads up the 'phone staff' are very reactive, and you can keep them running in circles for some quick fun. I was hung up on after they finally realized I was messing about. When these guys get their script together I am sure they can sound convincing. Just remember you will be contacted by the IRS by mail, and the government will not give you a grant for no reason. Especially if you haven't applied for one.
Got a call answered then they hung up! Called back an it either rings or it says the caller u are calling is no longer available, This happens all the time around tax season!!!!
I saw area 202, knew it was Washington DC area (if this was the true number of the person/business calling me). I called back, very fast busy signal. If that number calls again, I will reject the call.
When I called this number (from my cell phone) the announcement said that I had to call that number from and land line, or dial an 800 number (which I did not bother to write down). This number called again, and I inquired what company they are calling from. A man with an Indian accent said it was not a company, but was calling me about a federal grant. I told him I was not interested, and he asked why, and my response was I do not have to tell him why, and told him not to call this number again. So, today, I get two calls from 202-654-3256, I answered both times, ready to give someone an earful, and both times caller hung up.
