Received a call from this number .. advising that the government owed me $11,000 for overpayments I made on credit cards etc . Said they were the Consumer Department Agency in Washington DC and needed my credit card or bank account to receive the funds . I requested to speak with a supervisor and was told I would be given all the information to verify the legitimacy of the call after . After I told them I wouldn't give my personal information over the phone and said they were a scam they hung up
LOL...called me on thanksgiving day stating its the US Government wanting to give me $11,000...he had a heavy Indian accent...wanted my account numbers and PIN...yeah right!....then would be taking cash outta my account...F...ing morons!

This and the pre-approved loan scam run the same way. They tell you you'll receive a check for $$$$ and all you have to do is send a processing or filing fee or some other fee for $200 or more. I once got a call that said I was pre-approved for $2500 and all I needed to send was $50 to cover filing fees. When I asked them to take the 50 out of my 2500 and just send me 2450, they hung up. Go figure!
