Received a call from this number around noon today. The "agent" (robotic female voice) did not identify herself by name, did not ask for me by name, and said they were from IRS and THE IRS. There is a HUGE difference. Federal agents will always say that they are calling from the INTERNAL REVENUE SERVICE and not use the acronym. It's a shame that doing this is not a felony, but...
I received a voice mail from 202-609-7012 who pretended to be from the IRS. I called them back, due to my respect of the office they represent. The guy who answered the phone had my home address, phone number and my social security number. Then he demanded for my bank account number, investments account number, title copies of my car and house. Then when I refused to give him the information, he threatened me. He said he will call the police to pick me up whithin 20 minutes. He will come and hurt and kill me if I don’t comply right away. I hang up the phone.
I called the police and when they came, they used my phone to call 202-609-7012 and the person who answered the phone was so rude calling the Detective all kinds of bad/dreadful names. The IRS, Social Security Office and the Police office were all informed about my incident. They were able to trace the number and everyone I talked to said this is a big SCAM. I am now protected by the police and my phone guarded too. Contact the police right away when you get a call from 202-609-7012.
