Just recieved a text today, 8-20-1 saying Hi El...I just reviewed your resume....etc etc.... No name. Searching says its a DC are code. Found many people looking up the same number and text saying the same thing. If there was real interest there would be a name from the caller. Can't be legit, if they don't ID themselves.
I got a text message this afternoon from 202-617-7089. This is the message I got: "Hi Andrew, I just reviewed your resume. If you're still looking for work in the Education field, please call me at 888-257-1638."
Received a text from 202-617-7089, said they reviewed my resume and if I was still looking for work in the customer service field, to call 888-257-1638
Employment scams (where there is *NO* job) include but are not limited to:
1. Victims pay $$$ up front for required crap like uniforms, certification, background check, 1/2 airline ticket, etc.
2. You don't quite qualify for the job but are counseled to go back to school (scammer gets paid on college referral).
3. You are offered an interview and find out later it's a no-salary, commission-only, you-pay-expenses, perhaps-MLM sales job with poor leads.
4. You give your personal info because you believe you are applying for a real job which can lead to ID theft.
5. Your job as financial agent is to receive checks, cash them at your own bank, and Western Union cash away (checks will bounce).
REMEMBER -- THERE IS *NO* JOB.
Must be something fishy. Got the exact same message, but "Hi DD, I just reviewed your resume. If you're still looking for work in the Marketing field, please call me at 888-257-1638." They're probably pulling resumes from online, stripping the name and mobile numbers and then SMS'ing this message. I think I'll just take a pass on calling them.
Received a text from the above number saying they received my resume and if I was still looking for a position in the management field to call them 888-258-9312. This is NOT a company I sent a resume to.
