I just got a call from this number, a lady with a thick accent answered.... said she was with the Treasury Department. I said NO ....you are NOT, she said why do you think that, I answered with this is not how they respond to people. Then she used profanity and hung up. Watch out for this number they are REAL SCAM SCUM!

I got the same phone call, same scenario, he asked me for a credit card and I told him I did not have one because my name was Mickey Mouse and when I tried to use the card, no one would take it. Plus, when people asked for my ID, no one would take it either because the picture on my ID was taken before I had my ears surgically removed, he eventually hung up.
I hope and pray people don't fall prey to these scams and also hope our government is looking for ways to somehow track and punish these individuals.
This woman, with maybe an Indian accent, called to let me know that I had 'won" $8,300.00 dollars. As soon as I told her that nothing in life is free she abruptly hung up! No doubt this 'lady" was looking to scam a would be victim. Please do not fall prey to these vipers!
Just received a call from this number, a woman with a slight accent informing me that this was the Grants and Treasury Department of the federal government. She said that I had been selected along with 15,000 US citizens to receive a grant with no strings attached in the amount of $8400.00. All I had to provide was my credit card number or bank information so that they can do a direct deposit of the funds. I asked a lot of questions trying to verify who she was working for, I was very polite but obviously skeptical. I repeatedly asked for a website, offical name of this initiative or program, or a phone number where I could call back. She eventually gave me the website www.governmentgrants.com which is a valid website but difficult to determine it's legitimacy. She said she wouldn't give me another call and wouldn't wait for me to look at this website. I repeatedly explained that I do not provide my financial information to an incoming call without a full understanding of why and what I am providing it for. She refused to give me any additional information and eventually hung up on me. I looked it up on snopes and there are a ton of these types of scams out there.
