I recieved a strange text on my phone in regards to a posting on Craiglist so I looked up the number and found that people were having the same issues with the number. I had the same message that her name was Melissa Bellamy and was really interested in the purchase but wanted a few questions answered and listed all of them. I also had the suprise for her husband message. Appears to be a scam, I sent back and stated thats what it looked like.
Thank you all for your posts. Just got the same text, from Mellisa Bellamy asking to pay for a car I put on Craigslist. with paypal. You saved me so much time and headaches.
Just got the same thing from the number asking to buy my car off Craigslist and send me payment threw PayPal when my ad clearly states cash only!!! She claimed her name was Melissa Bellamy and I just googled the name and luckly saw this post and replied to her text in a not so nice way :) I can't stand scammers!!!! (202) 681-8415
If something is too good to be true it usually is. Sadly.... I received an email response to my Craigslist ad. Here is what "Melissa Bellamy" emailed me with. "Thanks for the response, My name is Melissa Bellamy. I am buying it as a surprise for my husband to our new home that we are planing on moving in with my family and I want to keep it that way(AS A SURPRISE) until the delivery day.
