This number was given as the consumer protection agency. asked if i had entered a sweepstake and then stated that I had won 2nd place in a sweepstakes entry. Asked if I had I.D. and when I told him yes but that I would not be giving out any numbers stated that a check in the amount of One hundred and fifty thousand dollar check would arrive at my house tomorrow via federal express. then the phone went dead.attempted to call back the number would ring but after it picked up it would go dead. I knew it was fraud and reported to the local police and googled it. He asked if I would be home at 4:00 pm and when I stated yes that is when the phone went dead.
Caller left message advising that I must pay the postage? immediately so that I can receive payment and was taxed against my sweepstakes earnings. He also advised that he was with the Consumer Protection Agency. The caller made it sound urgent in order to make the message sound valid. I looked up the number and found this article.
Received a call from that number , the man on the phone told me that i won $325,000 from sweepstakes and in order to getthe money, i must pay $1625 in fee,he said i should hurry because the check is expiring soon. so i went online and checked to see what this number was. As it turns out it was a scam! i was able to read other peoples experiences & determine that i shouldnt get involved with this offer. ANYONE WHO RECIEVES THIS CALL, DO NOT PAY THE MONEY! ITS A SCAM!
Received a call from this number today. Didn't answer because I didn't recognize it. Message was a similar story; Won a sweepstakes, must verify, urgent. Checked the number and found this link. I still have the message on my phone, is there anything I should do with it?
