Someone calls or texts wanting to buy an item you have for sale on craigslist. They tell you they want to buy your item offering you a higher price but can't pick it up and say they will pay with PayPal. Then they send a phony PayPal email saying you've been paid in full by this buyer and it's ok to ship your item. You check PayPal.com and there's no money and no record of any of this scam.
I think they use the same methods but have more than one phone number. I got three times this week an SMS saying : Can you send it to a friend in California, i'm in army, etc etc etc etc.
