Received a call that I won a tax grant for $9000 because I had no bankruptcies and had filed taxes on time. The guy told me my address and then asked that I tell him my age. When I refused he begged for it and refused to tell me his call back number and location. I put my phone down and he began cussing and finally hung up after no response for several minutes. He gave me a confirmation number and told me that I needed to call 202-738-4237 to get my grant money. The number he called from was 87455123.
Call by "Adam Smith" about $9,000 Federal Government Grant with the option of receiving it via Bank, Prepaid Card, or Cash. Obviously fake or some sort of scam
This does not say if this person was scammed by this ,this says obviously this is a scamis which is an opinion , so is it a scam or not does anyone know
this lady said she was representing the US GOVERNMENT in dispersing $9000 grants and needed me to go to a Western Union and preload a card with $230 for an "upgrade" to load the card and while I had her on the phone, I called Western Union locally and asked them if they recognized this activity and they had never heard of this, after confronting the lady on the phone asking me to do this she HUNG UP on me, I then called her back and now she is blocking my calls. These people should be tracked down and HUNG FROM A ROPE PUBLICLY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! As if we don't live in a struggling enough economy, we don't need these type of people praying on innocent people to SCAM us out of our hard earned money !!!!!!!!!!!!
I contacted the Federal Trade Commission, filed a report and absolutely nothing was done after receiving these better than true idea of receiving US Governmental Grant money, but have to pay a "security deposit" thru Western Union first. Someone in responsibility should chase these people down and press charges against them if possible. They are rude, as much as you know it's a scam, I tried to politely get as much info out of them. But, once you ask a few questions, they hangup.
Would be nice if our own government would go after these people. Chances are they are not within the United States.
We should make an example out of them, but we need the support of our own government to do something, just a little bit of testicular fortitude would be nice!
Is it really true that our government lacks the ability to do something about this. What a scam
Just recieved a call from this number saying I had a 9000 dollar grant and all I had to do was get a "green dot" card and call them back, didnt and wont.
