When caller ID shows anything but a number or person I know, I pick up and immediately hang up. If I am busy I just let the answering machine handle it. It says, "We screen all calls. You may leave a message." They never leave a message - so, it is basically a non-problem. :)
After changing my party affiliation from republican to democrat this month,, I have also begun to get calls from this number. They call and hang up when I answer. I guess someone is resentful of that switch and is trying to upset me, as they have all of you, but I guess they don't know me very well. Ha-ha-ha.
We are registered Independents that just moved to a more conservative suburb, so we're guessing they got our unlisted number from local records. We have mostly not answered the evening calls, but did answer one or two and were hung up on. I answered a call on a Sunday morning, and made it VERY clear I did not want to receive any more calls. I got the same speech as the others, that they are a non-profit and exempt from the DNC law. The caller did verify my number, and offered to forward it to his "legal" dept. to be removed.
The strangest thing about this caller is that he never identified himself, or the organization he was calling from. I had to google the number to figure out what was going on.
My advice to these people is a more polite greeting such as "Good Morning, this is so-and-so from the blah-blah-blah, I'm calling to..." They just might not get such a nasty tirade from the receiving party.
There has to be an explanation for why they call almost every day, maybe they have to make a certain amount of calls a day. they almost never answer the call, I am saying hello, hello, no answer. they may have a mental issue. I bet we as the taxpayers are funding this 'fantasy' phone harassment. maybe we should do a 10,000 man march on them, I am sure there are many people getting these calls.
