Called around 12:53pm. Shown in CID as Washington, DC. Called back after *67. Appears AI robocaller got on line. Thanked me for calling back. Represents American Vets and will be recorded. Continued spiel. Hung up after saying I do not like to be recorded.
Appears the new trend is to have a computer talk to you. Nerve wracking.
Looks like another scam that laughs at Federal Government and Do Not Call list.....receive more phone calls from scam artist than I do legit calls.... phone company CEO's making millions and approve these calls
They called saying I won a once in a lifetime $10,000 grant from the government with a list of options how I would like the money which were all a deposit into an account. I told the guy I wanted it as a check and he just kept repeating the other options. I told him if it was truly from the government they could cut s check and didn't need my account number. The guy just kept treating the same options several times before I hung up.
Just FYI, you don't "win" a grant. You have to apply for one and, once approved, you don't have to pay to get it. And you don't need to give an account number, either. Calls like this are 100% a scam. Feel free to block and ignore their calls.
I have been lots of calls from this number and others ugh. I never answer but they keep calling. I am going to disable my voice mail for a bit and see if my number drops off the list.
