Amazing, same thing happened this morning at my business. I noticed the caller ID was odd .2027919345, (not your typical ID) Man asked to speak to a Carol. I said there is no one by that name, I asked who exactly he was looking for, he said the owner. I laughed and asked what company he was calling from. He said the commerce department and wanted to talk to the owner. I said we do not have an owner. Then he asked to talk to George. I laughed and said guess again. He became all official and said, "Well these are the names that I have with the Chamber of Commerce".. and he hung up.
Called asking for the owner. Claimed to be affiliated with the government at some level.
I explained that unless she told me what this was regarding we could go no further.
She said thank you and hung up.
Called asking for our Vice President by name, first name only, said her name was Maria Soto, and was with the US Conference of Mayors. Explained he was not in his office and asked if she would like to leave a message. She said she could only talk to the owner. I told her ok and hung up.
Received a call today 5/16/17 from Takisha, claiming to be from the "Offices of Henry Lock". Some stupid scare tactic scammer. If they cannot tell me what it concerns than I am incapable of connecting them.
Woman called a coworker asking for the business owner (who does not work at this facility). The coworker told her he doesn't work here. Within seconds she called back. I picked it up, recognizing the number. When she asked for the business owner. I told her, "I think someone just old you he does not work here" and hung up. Mild laughter went around our office.
