get these calls all the time, its a scam it you get this call just either say u have no computer and that u will call the police on them or just tell them you have a mac and they will hang up. there is no calling list so u wont be taking off, they have a auto dilar that will just call random numbers. Windows or Microsoft never makes calls to tell you that you have viruses, get thsi call just hang up they just wantr to get into your computre get all your personal informantion and your banking acounts and take your money and put viruses in your computer. dont do anythign they say

Frustrated Texan
As I read all these comments, I become quite frustrated to see that Americans have such little knowledge about computers in general although they've been around since the middle 1970s.  Particularly, people post comments on this web site thinking they will get someone to remove them from receiving these calls.  That is ludicrous.  This website doesn't manage calls your homes.  It is just an avenue for reporting calls your receive.  Period.  Nothing else.  For those demanding to be taken off the call list, you are sadly misinformed or clueless about the purpose of these phone call reporting websites.  Get yourself training.

Now on to those who comprehend.  These calls are from criminal hackers.  Most of them spoof telephone numbers so tracking them is difficult.  Some of them come from VOIP services and are re-routed.  Getting off their call list will be fruitless - unless you disconnect your telephone lines.  Don't engage them.  Just hang up on them.  If you have a call blocking service - use it.  Don't give them information.   Not a bit of it!  Just tell them you don't use computers.  Hang up at that point.

They intend to access your Windows -based PCs apparently and install malware or other malicious software or code.  They will use this for various reasons including keyboard logging to steal the text of everything you type on your computer so they can hack your bank accounts or financial data, personal username and passwords to websites so they can hack into them and do the same or use your accounts to send spam emails, denial of service or distributed denial of service (DoS or DDoS) attacks and other malicious activities.  They can't commit a crime if you aren't a willing victim!  Don't be their next victim!  You may be able to report them to the Federal Communications Commission or the Federal Trade Commission.  Check those respective websites!  But if you can't prove who they are, doubt that any closure will take place.

There you have it.  These calls you have been receiving are from criminal hackers.  No body that writes comments on this website have any authority to make them stop.  There you have it.  My two cents worth.
