My land line answering device caught a call from this number too. Since I'd never encountered a 129 prefix before and the fact that I've had it up to here with phone harassments, I decided to return the call via cell phone. First without a 1, and then again with a 1, and both times, the Verizon system intervened with a "can't complete the number as dialed" advisory, so you can be sure the source is an unscrupulous one. The WHY it's done I suppose will forever remain a mystery, simply because the phone company won't do anything about putting a stop to it.
No phone number anywhere in North America can have a "0" or "1" for the first digit of the exchange. Clearly signs of a spoofed number, probably from overseas.
