I received multiple phone calls today from this number. When I finally answered they tried to tell me that my computer contained items that would put it at risk for contracting a virus. I stated over and over that there was nothing wrong with my computer and he continued to raise his voice at me calling me "MA'AM". I eventually hung up. Hope I don't hear back from this number again, and hope no one becomes a victim.
They have called us several times about our computer but the funny thing is we don't have one. Even though you tell them we have no computer they continue with their spiel about fixing the errors for us. They have called my parents home phone where I also live and both my mother and myself have dealt with them and they have also somehow gotten my cell number and called it while I was at work. Now this morning they have been calling here at home and not saying a word. Just silence. This is BS! I am fed up with these a**holes! Is there any way to get rid of them for good?
I received 3 calls back to back early morning - on the third call I picked up and the guy introduced himself as being from Windows and that there is a problem with my computer. I entertained the thought just to see how far I could take this. The representative, within 30 seconds, asked me to run a program on my computer. I was "acting" asking him to give me the information so I can run the program, but instead I searched the incoming number online. Looks like I'm not the only one! Once I began to challenge the rep a little, I asked him if I could speak to the supervisor. He doesn't put me on hold, you hear a little movement [almost like someone was covering the mouth/microphone (the part you speak into)] of the phone then passing it off to someone else. This is how the supervisor answered, "uh, hello?" I said "yes?" He said "Oh yes Hi ma'am this is the supervisor, my name is ________..." Some introduction. I worked for a call center running their systems for a few years at a much smaller company and we had a set up that was far superior and more professional. It simply did not read as a Windows company - more like some production being run out of a garage. I told him I was more comfortable hanging up and calling Windows Technical Department directly, and then the [***] hung up on me.
