Caller says he's from a police. He called me two weeks ago. Didn't ask for me by name nor did he say what it was about, he just said for me to call him back. When I called back, it was a Google Voice voicemail.
I traced the number and called their local police station. They said that there's no way whatsoever that it's a true police detective since they wouldn't leave a voicemail like that. They would also tell me what it was about. More importantly, I've never been to CT! The police on the phone said to just ignore the calls and not pick up.
Today, I got a text from a 203 number today as well. They somehow have my name now, and said for me to call when I have a chance. The grammar was horrible "You're" was "ur". Police don't text, do they? Either way, I didn't answer.
I just blocked the number. I also registered for the Do Not Call list. Is there anything else I can do?
