Foul mouthed after being informed to take my number off his list. THEN he tried to say that I was on food stamps and was calling because I was behind on my bills. He was grasping at straws, trying to find SOMETHING to intimidate me with. I suspect he was another scammer trying to access people's computers remotely and then insisting to get payment, once he accessed the computer and held it at ransom with you on the phone (the police said that he has done this already).
I got a call from someone yesterday afternoon 1/5/2015. The gentleman spoke with an Indian accent (I recognize it since I am a Project Manager in the software industry working with teams there). He said he was calling from - Microsoft (something inaudible) - and they had been receiving error messages from my computer that they needed to validate/ help to fix it. Since I knew that no one like that could have been receiving any alerts from my computer, and had read about this scam as well, I told the person I knew he was a scammer and hung up. They called back again today, but I missed the call. When you call back the number, you do get an "out of service" message.
This "Microsoft" scam happens all the time....Microsoft doesn't call you at all. It is believed that this Indian Accented yet FOUL MOUTH person is desperately trying to get your money when in fact he can't find a real job...Pathetically true for the international "disposable" numbers being on the caller ID.
