A representative from the credit department of this company (she didn't give the company's name) called to tell me something or other about a fraudulent charge on my American Express card and advised me to check my other accounts. She said this was a case of identity theft.
I was completely surprised, as my American Express account was closed at least six months ago. This may have been an innocent mistake, but it is certainly upsetting.
