BEWARE!!
My wife and I had the same experience as those mentioned except it went a little further.
After the "photoshoot" we were told that we would have to speak to make an appointment to speak to the Marketeer and both parents had to be there. I told them that only one parent would attend.
My wife went and after being with InterFace representative for 2 hours she phoned me to have me speak to the rep.
The happy and peppy acting rep explained to me that since my child was so young (16 months), that they would be focusing on print jobs for magazines and the like. She said that it didn't make since for him to go for acting parts since he obviously can't read a line, walk on cue, etc.
I then asked her what percentage of her clents were actually hired for work and she replied 70%. I asked her how many were hired for repeat work, and she acted if she didn't understand the question. I repeated the question and she explained to me that they don't keep stats. She then went on to tell about the "success" story of a client who went on to appear on Gossip Girls tv series. I told her I knew about that from the first interview and asked her for another example of success. She didn't answer the question, instead guiding me elsewhere saying that my son could do movie spots, commercials,etc.
When I reminded her that she told me my son couldn't do that media, she chided me by saying..."What?? OF COURSE HE CAN, WHY NOT??"

I then asked her to tell me about Interfaces' competition. She could not name anyone.
At this stage we had sunk about $1,000 into taking "pictures" and now they were asking us to pony up another $800 for 3 months of posting on their website. $1,800 for 3 years or something like that.
I asked her for my possible spending a total of $1,800, what could I expect from my investment. Or in other words, how much could we expect to be compensated for a print in a magazine.
She answered saying that there are many variations to consider. It depended on if he were the only child on the print, a full page or half page print, national or local distribution, etc.
She went on and on about that nonstop. When I interrupted her I asked her to base a pay range on a single full page, local ad, or to pick a scenario on her own. She said she can't. I told her "I just gave you one". She sent on again that I didn't understand that there are many scenarios. I said "I just gave you one".
I then tried to "break it down" to her that I'm looking to know what the possible compensation was, "$35, $50, $300? Give me a monetary range."
She explained that they are not that type of organization. I replied that I knew but I was sure she had soooome idea on what their clients are compensated. So I again asked her if she had any knowledge.
She then told me "YES I DO!"

NOW I THINK I"M GETTING SOMEWHERE.

So I aske her to tell me. She told me "No, I can't do that".
When I asked "Why?" she replied, "Because you'll hold me to that figure and I can't guarantee that you'll get that number."
I told her that I would sign a document stating that I wouldn't hold her to that number and mentioned that "By the way, I am not holding you to that 70% figure" she gave me earlier.

She started to stammer more about that she has the numbers but can't give them to me.

It was then that I told her that I thought she and InterFace were not building trust. That my family is honest and hard working and that she was not building trust. Especially since she demanded that we make a decision on making a payment while my wife was in their office.

It was then that I told the woman that we will eat our losses and not continue.
My wife left with our 48 photo shots. (Which actually had only 15 or so "GOOD" poses. The others had my son either looking away, frowning, not smiling, etc)

Good luck if you continue with this bunch. My wife and I decided to take the $800 that we might have spent and buy some Google stock in my son's name and put another $1,000 in his college fund. A BETTER INVESTMENT!!!!

This is a scam -.They called us several times scouting for my child who they had met in the mall-we went to meet with them and they talk to you like your child is heaven sent and then to proceed forwzrd to explore your child talents you need to do photo shoots for $850-$1000-...and you have to sigh up right then or else you will miss the  "potential opportunity" to make the mega bucks -we saw right thru this and walked out -no one can ask you to make a decision at a spur of the moment -please all of you out there do your research and beware of scams like these.Our money is hard earned and not to be given away to phoney people who pretend to be a legit company when they are not.

I got all the same line on the phone but from a different number. (203) 545-2049. Listed to a cell phone but the woman "Trudy" told me she was from Interface Talent in Norwalk, and that they had seen my 16 yr old son at the mall. I asked her to call back later after I had talked to my son and my husband. Then I found this website. I'm glad I found all of your comments. I will not waste my time when she calls back.

I can only assume it is Interface Talent that has been calling me. I was at the danbury mall yesterday and was asked to fill out a card for them. Now this number has been calling me and hanging up, wasting my cell minutes. ><

These people called my house and didn't leave a message.  I am glad I looked on the internet.  My child was approached at a mall in Manchester.  My daughter was so excited.  She doesn't have the best confidence and I think if I had taken her and they said that she would be great and then they didn't follow through (or we didn't have the money to do it), it would have done some real damage.  I don't know who the heck these people think they are but something needs to be done.  BBB sounds good to me.
