got a call from this number today, a steve johnson claiming to be an irs investigator. saying there's a warrant for my arrest. and that phone call was being recorded by homeland security. i asked what the charges were and he mentioned violations of irs act, homeland security act and another one i couldn't recall. at this point i asked for my case # and he gave me some random numbers. working with the justice system, i knew how the case numbers are prefixed and i also asked which district was my case in. the guy obviously did not know jack about the law. i told him if it was really in the courts already then my legal team will take care of it. he then hung the phone on me. i was however disturbed because he had my cp # (which was not in my name) but got my name correctly and my address. i think this scammer pulled my info from a security breach maybe from my doctor's office or even credit card online login info. really scary [***] but scam nonetheless. be careful out there.

•report the incident to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration at 800-366-4484.
•You can also file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission at FTC.gov. Add "IRS Telephone Scam" to the comments in your complaint.

Do consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $50.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.
