Got a text from this number about buying my car "if still for sale". Very generic message with robotic grammar. It asked if my car was still for sale, which is odd cuz I listed it just hours earlier. Can't sell it on a Sunday and all. It even listed the sms directly as the CL ad had posted it with my city in brackets.
Got a text from this number about buying my car "if still for sale". Very generic message with robotic grammar. It asked if my car was still for sale, which is odd cuz I listed it just hours earlier. Its a scam. The "buyer" wants to buy it without looking at it and is willing to pay your full asking price. He wants you to ship it somewhere. He says will send a cashiers check or put the payment in your Paypal account. The payment will include money for shipping, which you are to wire to a shipping firm he chose.
The cashier's check will bounce. Or you'll get a forged notice that the money is in your Paypal account, but it won't really be there. You wire the shipping fee, then discover that the payment isn't real. The buyer and the shipper take the shipping fee and vanish.
Do not reply to the offer. Sell your car to someone local and insist on being paid in cash.
