Who called from 2034508926

On 1/20/2010, I received an unsolicited fax from Mark Carr, National Account Manager, Millenium Financial. (The name is misspelled; it should have two n's.) It offered $125,000 for a "pre-approved equipment credit line." I have no interest in calling Mark Carr, so I do not know if his number works, but he listed (203) 450-8926. The web site on the fax does work: www.millenium-funding.com. The site says it is based in New Haven, CT, Email: [email protected], Main Number: (203) 450-8925. I hate junk fax and filed a formal complaint with my state, Tennessee. The caller ID number was fake -- my screen said "out of area," and the number recorded by the fax machine is too long to be real.

I've had my fill of this Mark Carr, period! The DO NOT FAX means nothing to this man!

I too was skeptical when I received this fax.  We may have also received a voice mail from someone too, but can't remember for sure.

I couldn't find anything on this company on the Better Business Bureau site, which doesn't necessarily mean it is a trustworthy company.

Anyhow, I used my Google Voice account to call Mark Carr's number just to see who, if anyone, would answer (and you can immediately block that number with Google Voice from calling you back).  It didn't even ring, it goes straight to voice mail (red flag).  I'm sure if you leave your contact information, they will call you from a different number that you can't call back or trace or something.

Another red flag to me was when I looked up their web site registration information - the IP address is linked to Portugal - I used Network Solutions WHOIS function to look this info up: http://www.networksolutions.com/whois-search/millenium-funding.com

Red flag - no mailing or street address is given on their web site.

Red flag - if they are indeed a Connecticut corporation, I couldn't find any business registration records with the CT Secretary of State. http://www.concord-sots.ct.gov/CONCORD/index.jsp

Doesn't pass the smell test for me...
