Kind of entertaining. I have the number blocked so it just continues "forwarding" it to nowhere. So far it's been over 10 minutes and they haven't hung up. Waiting to see how long it takes. Obviously some sort of scam company
i saw a call from this number in my email messages; i had mistakenly clicked on some ad from gmail about going back to school. i put my info/number and within 3 minutes started getting phone calls. hi my name is (unintelligible) and i understand you want to take some college classes? what kind? then they connect me to a school, online of course, it turns out the tuition is more than Stanford or MIT. this online school that i could get someone to do for me will only cost $90,000 would you like to sign up today? geeeeezzz, i might as well goto Stanford or MIT
then weeks later i get a call and i know its from them because they get my name a certain way and claim the city i live in is where the internet provider is at, apparently how it came up for location??? they say congratulations you qualify for a one time government grant of $8000.00 you can use to go back to school. then they say you can only use this for school or fixing up your home but not for gambling or alcohol. would you like to apply?? good, so once again congratulations, how do you plan to use this money? oh i will go right to school and use all of it only for school (fingers crossed behind my back) we just need your bank account information to deposit this money into, so read me the account number please? ok, so i gave them my bank acct #. great, ok now we need to process this, it will take 20 minutes to transfer funds, and we will need you to pay for this by using the paypal green dot card, so go to the grocery store and get the green dot card for $600.00, then give me that number and we transfer the $8000 plus the $600 plus a useage refund of $47 so you will see a total of $8647.00 in your account within 20 minutes, okay? i went to the store but they didnt sell the green dot anymore. i asked why they cant take it from the bank account? no we are a middleman and cannot withdraw from any bank...
anyway i called green dot and said if its a scam can i get my money back? no way, its just like cash, you better check it out first. the attorney general website listed this as a total scam, so i stopped answering them.
so if you get a call from this number, you may get the other (above) call as well.
Keep getting calls from this number. When answered the first call no one spoke. When returned call was told someone would be with me soon. After about one minute the disconnected. They continue to call me. I have since registered with the do not call list.
Calls at least 3 times a day. Always about going back to school. Scheming a cruel retribution plan for them like blasting a loud high frequency tones or something everytime they * call me.
