I got a call from this number just ten minutes ago and as soon as I asked them the name of the company, they hung up. Why can't these people be stopped?????
The same thing just happened to me! I have received quite a number of calls from this number so finally I decided to answer it and when I asked "Grace" what the name of her company was she hung up on me. My caller ID said "Protect Cost" and while I was on hold a recorded voice asked me to find my electricity bill for when somebody would come on the line. I called them but all it would do was to remove me from their computer robot calling machine.yhhhhgff
Caller ID says "Shelton, CT" and they are calling several times per day.
Call 1. I called back and was "disconnected."
Call 2. I called back again and immediately received a voice message that said "Hello and thank you for calling. If you would like to be placed on the do not call list for the number that called you, please press 1 now." I did that and was told to allow 48 hours for the request to be processed.
3. I called back and the line was busy.
4. I called back and received 'dead air"
5. I called back again and immediately received a voice message again.
6. I called back again and immediately received a voice message. Pressed "0" to try to get to operator, but it just exits the call with a "thank you for calling" message.
7. Automated female voice. "We're sorry, all circuits are busy now. Will you please hang up and try your call again? 9-18 business office."
8. Automated female voice. "We're sorry, all circuits are busy now. Will you please hang up and try your call again? 9-18 business office."
9. Automated female voice. "We're sorry, all circuits are busy now. Will you please hang up and try your call again? 9-18 business office." ETC ETC ETC.
This outfit is calling us agAin ang again and again, claiming to represent our utility company, but is unable to tell us our name (i.e. who they're calling) or who our utility company is, and flatly refused multiple requests to take us off their call list. We filed an FCC complaint. at http://www.fcc.gov/complaints. The behavior pattern says this is almost certainly a scam.
