I find it even more humorous when they asked to speak to an old CEO who's been passed away for more than a year. I'm tired of getting these compliance poster bs calls.
Got a call today telling me I was required by law to purchase labor posters otherwise the state of Connecticut would begin to fine me. I asked this person. who again said I was required by law to purchase these, just what statute I would be in violation of---he couldn't tell me. Oh by the way, he called me law office. When I pressed the issue I was then told 'we are not trying to sell you something, we can't say that, we are just trying to get you to comply with labor laws so the state will stay off your back'. But the posters cost $99.00 to them. Isn't that selling Mr. Semantics? It is my understanding that if you meet the employee threshold the state provides you with the necessary posters/announcements you need to provide your employees.
I just got a call from National Compliance. He indicated that he wanted to confirm my office address for the state, so that we would be sure to get the up to date labor law changes. I told him we haven't changed our address in four years and have been getting all the state information. I thanked him and hung up. What a scam.
