Thank you all for doing these feedbacks. It is greatly appreciated. Especially with all these scams and liers out there.
I just got a call from them with the same message as the ones reported. That they will serve me and sue me and that they had matched my SS# with these debts. That I needed to call them back or I would loose my rights if I didn't, etc etc.
This is from a so called process service/debt collector. They want u to pay them for a creditor that u MAY owe money to. They threaten if you don't pay them that the creditor will sue them if this supposed debt. Their threats are illegal according. Each state has a time frame as to how long a creditor has to collect a debt.
The "time frame" is a Statute of Limitations, which does not (in 48 states) limit "how long a creditor has to collect a debt". SoL sets a deadline for *suing* you to collect. A collection agency can legally ask you to pay some car note from around the Carter administration so long as nobody mentions "court" or "lawsuit".
That said, thugs like this have no intention of suing and probably can't because the debt is imaginary, both conditions making their bullying calls illegal.
I just received a call from this number and have been for the last few days. I told Carlos Johnson if he called my phone one more time, I will report this number, his company and have his damn job. Obviously he doesn't know who he is calling. I called my police department and was adv that any more calls can get forwarded to their non emergency number and they will speak with the people. They are calling from 203-610-6489 and 501-490-9400 and I am sick of them calling my phones! They called 2 numbers that are not registered to me, but I own. I don't give out my cell number, how the hell are they calling my cell?
I had the same thing happen to me! They some how got my mothers cell phone, whom I haven't lived with in 27 years. As a matter of fact, my parents are in Florida and Im in Pennsylvania. There is no logical reason for them to connect the two of us but some how they have. Is it a website selling off our information? Thanks for the info on the Police Dept. I'll be sure to direct them accordingly. A co-worker suggested they may be charging for the calls as well? Or should I say the return calls.
